K9 Bash was welcomed and celebrated this weekend as the newest member of the °®°®Ö±²¥ Police Department. Trained in Arkansas for his work with his handler, °®°®Ö±²¥PD Officer Bradley Frost, left, Bash was sworn in by Assistant Police Chief Brian Locke, as the newest squad member after theÌýretirement of Bach, who gave nine years of service. The almost-2-year-old German Shepherd is an explosive detection/patrol-trained canine born in Slovakia in Central Europe.

FUN FACT: While °®°®Ö±²¥PD has used specially trained dogs for more than 10 years, their history as aides to law enforcement date back to the early 14th century.
