The Starkville/°®°®Ö±²¥ Community Band will present its first concert of 2024 2 p.m. March in the Kent Sills Band Hall on the campus of °®°®Ö±²¥ at 72 Hardy Road.

The program will open with Aaron Copeland’s iconic "Fanfare for the Common Man," followed by Jay Dawson’s light-hearted "Fanfare, Mules and Roosters." The program will continue with a tribute to composer Robert W. Smith with his musical description of the Vietnam War, "Mekong," and a beautiful composition, "Vespers of Light." The concert will conclude with Mississippi composer Ayatey Shabazz’s "Of Honor and Valor Eternal."

There is no charge for admission.
